Your captures stay on your device

Screen Text Drop captures only when you invoke the hotkey or choose an image. OCR runs locally using bundled models. Captured pixels are held in memory only while recognition is running and are not saved by default, uploaded, logged, or used for training.

Data stored locally

If you enter or receive a Pro license, the app stores the license token and its last verification result in local application storage. Settings may also be stored locally. Removing the app or clearing its data removes them.

License verification

When you activate Pro, the app sends the license token to the Sociobot billing API at api.sociobot.in no more than once per day. It does not send captures or extracted text. Sociobot/Dodo acts as merchant of record for purchases and processes the information required for checkout and refunds.

No tracking

The app has no analytics, advertising identifiers, telemetry, or background recording. The website does not set analytics cookies.

Permissions

Operating systems may require Screen Recording permission. It is used only for capture you initiate. You can revoke it in system settings.
